Automation Engineer

Crest Solutions are seeking an Automation Engineer to join our team and work on our customer site in Cork.

Responsibilities and Tasks:

• Provide technical support of existing control systems utilised in Manufacturing and Facilities operations.

• Lead/ Execute the design, engineering and commissioning of new control systems.

• Act as site SME for the automation systems.

• Provide Technical support to the Engineering Department on the specification of control systems for new Equipment.

• Support Daily Operations for Automated Systems and ensure cGMP requirements are met.

• Prepare SOPs, Functional Specifications, Detailed Design Specifications and other documents required for a cGMP Automated environment.

• Participate in quality investigations and perform Automation execution of Change Controls

• Other duties as assigned.

Skills and Experience:

• Hold a relevant third level qualification in an engineering discipline, preferably a BEng in Electrical / Electronic / Automation Engineering or a BSc in Computing / Software Engineering.

• 2-3 years relevant industrial experience in an automation role ideally in the pharmaceutical packaging sector of industry.

• Knowledge of PLC programming experience, preferably with Siemens based control systems.

• Demonstrate excellent written and spoken communication skills with strong attention to detail.

• Flexible to travel (nationally and internationally) and hold a full, clean driving licence

• A natural aptitude for programming and software systems, preferably using C#

• Knowledge of SQL and working with relational databases.

• Working knowledge of a CAD design package is advantageous
