Crest Solutions are seeking a Associate Mechanical Engineer to join our team and work on our customer site in Galway.

This role is with a medical device manufacturer, based in Galway. The position of Associate Mechanical Engineer, will integrate into a diverse and experienced R&D department, that support current production while developing new products from the ground up.


Job Overview:


  • Integrate into the Mechanical Design Engineering team to develop world leading acute care aerosol drug delivery devices
  • Support project teams in the growth and supply of existing product lines.
  • Full product design life cycle, including user needs identification, design, rapid prototyping, development, manufacture and validation.
  • Responsible for creating/maintaining product specifications (including detailed designs, processing specifications, validation test methods) in accordance with medical device industry regulations.
  • Responsible for documenting project activities in line with the company's product and process development procedures.
  • Compilation and communication of concise technical reports.
  • Effective collaboration with multiple departments across the organisation.
  • Other activities as directed by their Supervisor.

Education/Experience:

• Level 8 in Mechanical Engineering or similar discipline.

• Minimum 2 years’ experience in a Mechanical Engineering role or equivalent.

Specific Requirements:

• Enjoys understanding technical problems and driven to find optimum solutions.

• Ability to work as part of a fast paced, multi-disciplinary team with excellent collaboration and teamwork skills.

• Strong presentation skills with an ability to portray concepts concisely.

• Experience with 3D Modelling & Drawing software such as Solidworks or Creo.

• Knowledge of CFD & FEA Simulation software such as Ansys.

• Experience in the Medical Device area would be an advantage.
